In Europe, for example, the limit for the daily average of PM10 is 50 µm/m³ (PM10), which must not be exceeded more than 35 times per year. Increasing attention is paid to very fine particles with an even smaller diameter (PM2.5). The solution is to measure the particulate matter pollution, which requires certified measurement devices that deliver valid measurement results under all conditions.
Fidas® analyzers deliver real-time data, so that rising pollution levels can be detected even before limit values are exceeded, whereas other technologies only provide access to the results with a delay of hours to days. Networked systems require real-time information in order to trigger measures for reducing pollution levels.
Fidas® 200 is an EN 16450-certified aerosol spectrometer specially developed for use in regulatory environmental monitoring. It continuously analyses the fine dust particles present in the ambient air in the size range 180 nm – 18 µm and simultaneously calculates the immission values PM2.5 andPM10. Fidas® 200 also calculates and records simultaneously PM1, PM4, PMtot, the particle number concentration Cn and the particle size distribution.
