Technically advanced vibrating spiral conveyors do more than just move your product. SPIRA-FLOW™ Vibrating Spiral Conveyors can be equipped for direct or indirect drying, direct or indirect cooling, coating, and can be designed to convey material up or down. Available in infinite lengths and heights, GK Spirals are custom built for your specific application. They also can be built in stainless or mild steel, open or enclosed, there are no limitations to what a GK spiral can do.
Available with direct drive but the majority of customers choose a Two-Mass design. Why? Two-Mass enables closer interface with adjacent transfer equipment, thus reducing overall height requirements by eliminating the transient response associated with brute force drive technology. These spirals would therefore meet lower head room requirements needed in your production line. Secondly, GK’s VF wheels reduce the rotating unbalance to minimum setting for startup and shut down eliminating the requirements for Plug Stops or DC Brakes. Without such devices, brute force drives produce very pronounced transient displacements during starting and stopping. Interface clearances, and resulting overall height, with brute force drives must be increased significantly to avoid contact with adjacent equipment during a power loss coast down. For more information, click hereClick here for related articles
