DOETINCHEM - After almost 50 years of experience, HETHON is able to offer a complete range of reliable solutions for handling and dosing difficult-to-flow materials. They developed customised solutions in-house for a wide range of applications.

In addition to the well-known HETHON Feeder (in all conceivable sizes and designs), the portfolio includes compact Big Bag unloading stations (with product activation), bag dumping cabinets, VacuFeed, conveying systems, feed screws and bag compactors. HETHON not only supplies stand-alone machines but also realizes process installations.

Variety

The Specialist in Difficult to Dose Powders

Every application requires custom systems with conditions to be met with regard to capacity, flexibility, control, dosing accuracy, food safety, and cleaning, just to name a few things. The wide variety of questions from all kinds of markets makes HETHON a flexible, solution-oriented company. It often happens that tests are carried out in-house or on-site. Not infrequently, this leads to innovations or unique, one-off solutions.

Flexible wall feeder

The Specialist in Difficult to Dose Powders

An important spearhead in the program is the flexible wall feeder; a compact device that HETHON developed in 1988 and has since been successfully used worldwide in countless applications under the most diverse conditions. From the accurate dosing of cohesive powders to the product-friendly processing of sensitive granulates.

Hopper

The Specialist in Difficult to Dose Powders

The heart of the HETHON Feeder is a hopper made of a special, flexible polyurethane. A steel reinforcement profile is integrated into the top. The sidewalls of the hopper are “massaged” from the outside using paddles.

As a result, the product in the hopper has no chance of bridging or ratholing, so that it runs smoothly into the underlying screw and can be accurately dosed. The paddles also prevent mixtures from segregating. Thanks to the gentle movement, fragile products remain intact. Another advantage is that the product is activated without coming into contact with a stirring or mixing tool. The movement of the paddles can be controlled independently of the speed of the dosing screw (2 motor models) so that an optimal setting can be found for each product.

Gravimetric

The HETHON Feeders have robust, tubular steel frames on which a silo can be supported if desired. They are available in various sizes and versions (also in ATEX), with capacities from 0.08 to more than 20,000 l/h. The feeders can dose both volumetric and gravimetric. In the latter case, the device can be mounted on a weighing scale (Loss in Weight). It is also possible to weigh the packaging in which the feeder doses (Gain in Weight). In combination with the self-learning software, you can work with pre-set recipes and coarse/fine dosages for even higher accuracy.

Rent and test

The Feeders can be hired to test your powder or in the HETHON test facility.

Options

For the Hethon Feeders, there is a range of stainless steel dosing screws and nozzles. You can choose shaftless screws, screws with a fixed- or removable centre rod, and T-nozzles with or without a pneumatically operated valve. The dosing hoppers are available in six different types, each with a distinctive colour. There are heat and acid-resistant hoppers, anti-static hoppers, and food-safe hoppers (FDA certified). A seventh hopper – FDA and ATEX certified – is in the development phase. The hoppers are easily interchangeable. So it is convenient and time-saving to use a separate hopper for each product. You can increase the capacity of the feeder with an extension hopper by a factor of 10. Other options are safety grids and level switches. All feeders are available in ATEX.

Cleaning and maintenance

The screws, dosing hoppers, and extension hoppers can be easily disassembled without tools, for quick cleaning. Little maintenance is required as the dosing unit has only a few moving parts.

HESTON Basic Feeder

The HETHON Basic Feeders for flowing materials are even simpler. These economical devices do not have a flexible wall, but a fixed, stainless steel hopper of 16 l. and a dosing capacity of 24 to 820 l/ h, depending on the screw diameter used. The application determines the solution. With an eye for detail and power in speed, HETHON is committed to perfect product flow.
