Somerset, NJ: Multiflux ® GMS mixers from process equipment manufacturer Gericke USA,enable food, nutrition, pharmaceutical, and other manufacturers to prevent color contamination when switching from synthetic to natural colorants in batch mixing processes. Designed for fast, complete cleaning between batches, the mixers invite the full access to the interior required to effectively remove aggressive pigment and odor residues left when using natural colorants such as turmeric, beetroot, paprika, and spirulina. Staining inside the mixing chamber that could contaminate successive batches is safely avoided.

Offering a triple-access approach to complete colorant cleaning, the GMS mixers feature an oversized rear access door as standard, an optional Extractable Cantilevered Design (ECD) that automatically slides the mixing rotors out from the mixing chamber for 360 degree access, and an optional AirCIP clean-in-place system, which uses compressed air to gently dislodge any residual material from the paddles or the chamber. The mixers feature stainless steel construction with polished internals and meet FDA and GMP requirements for sanitary processing.

The Gericke mixers gently combine the natural colorants with multiple powders and liquids to meet required recipe homogeneity within 30 seconds. Testing with a variety of colorants is offered in the company’s New Jersey test laboratory.
