3 Dec 2024  |
Materialise, a global leader in rapid prototyping and AM serves diverse industries, including healthcare, automotive, aerospace, and consumer goods. Operating one of the world’s largest 3D printing facilities, the company is committed to delivering high-quality products with swift turnaround times.

Automated powder recovery system boosts productivity and safety in additive manufacturing

At its Bremen Germany, competence center, Materialise specializes in metal 3D printing using 316L stainless steel powder with EOS M280 and SLM printers. Previously, the powder recovery process involved manual handling, leading to productivity challenges and safety concerns due to operator exposure to metal powders.

To address these issues, Materialise integrated the Russell AMPro® sieve station into its workflow. This fully automated system streamlined powder recovery, reducing manual intervention, and enhancing operator safety. The implementation allowed Materialise to support multiple 3D printers simultaneously, increasing production capacity and efficiency. The Russell AMPro® sieve station’s automated sieving process ensures consistent powder quality, minimizing contamination risks and maintaining high standards in additive manufacturing.
