The ZD 5 FB flat-tray feeder is a dependable solution for feeding rates below 100 g/h in Three-Tec’s portfolio. As the smallest twin-screw flat-tray feeder in our range, it’s ideal for poorly flowing powders. With a screw diameter of just 5 mm, it can deliver as little as 5 g/h with ease.
High feeding consistency of the feeding device used is crucial for accurate, continuous feeding results. If a feeding device can already achieve high feeding consistency in volumetric mode without discharge or flow aids, only minimal adjustments are required in gravimetric mode, which significantly increases feeding accuracy.
AMW GmbH required a feeding solution for quantities below 50 grams per hour. In trials with PLGA polymer powder, AMW compared three feeders from different suppliers, recording three data points for each of three motor-control settings. All tests were run purely volumetrically, without weight-based control.
The test results clearly show that the ZD 5 FB flat-tray feeding device from Three-Tec outperformed other models in terms of low dispersion, making it the ideal choice for the most demanding precise feeding applications.
