To improve cycle times and ease of cleaning, the company replaced a 15 cu ft (0.425 cu m) ribbon blender with a Munson Mini Rotary Batch Mixer.
The rotating drum has internal mixing flights that provide a 4-way mixing action to assure thorough and rapid inter-mixing of all ingredients, even trace amounts, with no stratification or segregation.
It delivers uniform blends at 100% down to 15% of rated capacity–– even with ingredients added in trace quantities. This flexibility enables the company to run all of its mixing through this one machine.
The mixer discharges completely, with only an insignificant amount of residual dust. The large access door allows easy access for cleaning and sanitizing. According to the company, the entire process takes only about 15 minutes—less than half the time it took to clean the ribbon blender.
