Puritan’s Vertical Spout Magnets are specifically designed for applications where traditional magnetic tube separators may be less effective. Materials that tend to bridge, pack, or choke in tube-style separators can continue to flow smoothly through a vertical spout magnet, making this design particularly advantageous in demanding processing environments. Engineered to handle high-volume, gravity-fed product streams, these magnets effectively remove ferrous contaminants ranging from fine particles to larger tramp metal. This capability allows them to perform reliably across a wide range of materials, including moist, lumpy, granular, or powdered products commonly found in industries such as food processing, grain handling, plastics, and chemical manufacturing.
The system consists of a durable housing fitted with two opposing plate magnets that create a strong magnetic field within the product stream. A center diverter located at the housing inlet directs the product flow toward the magnetic surfaces, maximizing contact and separation efficiency. As material passes through the spout, ferrous contaminants are pulled from the flowing product and securely captured by the powerful magnets.
Another key advantage of Puritan Magnetics vertical spout magnets is their operational adaptability. They are available in manual-clean, EZ CLEAN™, and POW R CLEAN™ configurations, allowing facilities to align maintenance procedures with throughput demands, line accessibility, and operational priorities. Manual-clean models provide a straightforward maintenance approach, while EZ CLEAN™ designs incorporate a removeable internal drawer that quickly removes captured ferrous debris. For high-volume or difficult-to-access installations, POW R CLEAN™ units offer semi-automated or pneumatic-assisted cleaning to reduce labor and downtime.
