We are excited to announce the successful completion of our scope in Stora Enso’s billion-euro investment at the Oulu mill in Finland. This milestone project marks a significant advancement in sustainable and efficient material handling.
As part of this collaboration, Laitex delivered a fuel-receiving system for side-tipping trucks, complemented by an automatic sampling system. Our solution also included conveyors to transport biomass to both the open fuel yard and the boiler. A biomass stacker and a screw reclaimer under the storage pile ensure smooth and efficient fuel flow throughout the facility.
Beyond supplying key material handling systems, Laitex took full responsibility for the installation and commissioning of all equipment. Our team also designed and constructed a brand-new truck receiving building, equipped with a cutting-edge dust removal system to enhance operational safety and reduce emissions. Additionally, Laitex has provided equipment, instrumentation and piping to ensure seamless integration with Stora Enso’s operations.
“This project showcases Laitex’s expertise in full-scope bulk material handling solutions. By providing high-performance and sustainable material handling equipment, we are helping our partners meet their environmental and operational goals,” says Lasse Kurronen, CEO at Laitex.
Thanks to these advanced solutions by Laitex, Stora Enso can now handle greater volumes of biomass—including wood chips and bark—while optimizing storage and fuel logistics at the Oulu mill. This project stands as a strong example of how smart engineering and close collaboration drive sustainable progress in the industry.
