Education at the Wolfson Centre for Bulk Solids Handling Technology
24 Mar 2025  |
There are many ways to learn about the latest advances in technology when handling bulk materials and experts at the Wolfson Centre are on hand to advise.

A suite of short courses has been devised to help delegates identify potential bulk materials handling problems and advise on how to avoid or overcome these issues. A calendar of courses is offered at the Centre or online throughout the year.

Short courses: Professional Education for Industry

The next courses in Kent are:

14-16 May: Pneumatic Conveying of Bulk Materials (basic course)

3 – 4 June: Pneumatic Conveying System Design (advanced course)

3 July; Bulk Materials Handling and Processing in the Net Zero Economy

9 July: Storing and Handling Powders and Bulk Materials for the Batteries Industry.

Many of these courses can also be offered in company at site or online around the world.

Free Webinars

A series of webinars featuring different topics on bulk materials handling starts in April. The first suite of topics includes:

April: Pneumatic Conveying Bends: Practical Solutions for Common Problems
May: From Carbon Fixing to Building structures: The Effects of Water on Calcium Oxide and its Cement Products (in conjunction with Surface Measurement Systems)
June: Challenges in Convective Drying of Powdered Materials
July: Air Classification: Insights from Industry and Research

Registration is now open.

Conference

This conference will cover an issue that is quite common but not very well exposed or covered.  Unlike explosions, it is not regulated by DSEAR so does not get the same attention, but fires in storage of bulk solids is probably more common than explosions.

Early Bird registration until 9 May.

Exhibition stands and sponsorship opportunities are available
