To address this challenge, TOREX, the WAMGROUP brand specialised in bulk solids handling equipment for pneumatic conveying, offers EXTRABEND and EXTRACURVE in DURASINT®: anti-wear pipe elbows specifically engineered to improve service life, reduce maintenance requirements and support more reliable pneumatic conveying performance.
Part of WAMGROUP since 1987, TOREX benefits from the Group’s global expertise in bulk material handling and process engineering. The development of EXTRABEND and EXTRACURVE reflects WAMGROUP’s application-oriented approach: delivering practical, durable solutions designed around real operating conditions and customer needs.

A key differentiating element of the range is the use of DURASINT®, a high-performance engineering polymer developed within WAMGROUP for highly abrasive conveying environments. Originally designed to meet the stringent demands of the battery industry, DURASINT® combines high wear resistance, mechanical strength and long-term reliability in applications where conventional solutions often reach their limits.
Manufactured from a single piece of DURASINT®, both EXTRABEND and EXTRACURVE are designed to provide superior resistance to wear while contributing to lower noise levels, reduced pipe deterioration and simplified installation. For plant operators, these advantages translate into longer maintenance intervals, improved process continuity and lower total cost of ownership.
The product range includes two complementary configurations to suit different plant layouts and conveying requirements. EXTRABEND is a short-radius elbow developed for compact installations where available space is limited without compromising conveying efficiency or durability. EXTRACURVE, available both as a 90° wide-radius elbow and in a straight configuration, is designed for applications requiring smoother material flow and gentler direction changes within the conveying line.
Both solutions are particularly suitable for industries handling highly abrasive bulk materials, including ceramics, quarrying and mining, building materials, glass processing and battery production. In these sectors, conveying components are subject to constant mechanical stress, making durability and operational reliability essential factors for maintaining productivity and controlling maintenance costs.
The battery industry represents a particularly strategic application area. As investments in battery manufacturing continue to grow globally, conveying systems must guarantee consistent performance under increasingly demanding operating conditions. The development of DURASINT® specifically for this sector reinforces the positioning of EXTRABEND and EXTRACURVE as specialised engineered solutions rather than standard piping components.

From a technical perspective, the range is available with 3-inch and 4-inch inlet diameters, PN-type connecting flanges, operating pressures from -0.5 bar to 1.5 bar and a working temperature range from -20 °C to 70 °C. However, beyond the specifications, the real value of the product family lies in its ability to support more stable and efficient plant operation over time.
In today’s industrial environment, customers are increasingly looking for components capable of improving lifecycle performance, reducing maintenance pressure and supporting uninterrupted production. EXTRABEND and EXTRACURVE in DURASINT® have been developed precisely with this objective in mind: offering durable anti-wear solutions that help protect pneumatic conveying systems where wear is most critical.
