Elcan Industries is excited to introduce a groundbreaking electromagnetic de-ironing filtration system tailored for producing lithium-ion battery materials. This advanced system removes iron impurities with unmatched precision, ensuring that manufacturers meet the demanding quality requirements of the energy storage sector.

The Class II Div II & UL-rated electromagnetic system offers enhanced safety and operational reliability, making it ideal for critical production environments. It can efficiently process wet and dry materials, providing a versatile solution to prevent contamination and boost production quality.

“We are committed to advancing battery materials production through innovative technologies,” said Greg Riter, Director of Engineering. “Our advanced sieving technology, the Hi-Sifter, which allows companies to sieve down to as fine as 10um, coupled with the state-of-the-arrt electromagnetic separator, helps manufacturers achieve iron-free materials, critical for ensuring product performance and extending battery life for end-use applications.”

Key features of the electromagnetic system include:

  • Magnetic strength up to 19,500 Gauss for effective iron removal
  • Vibration technology to improve material flow rates
  • No magnetic leakage, protecting product integrity and safety
  • Optimized design for smooth processing of both wet and dry powders

Introducing this new filtration system reflects Elcan’s continued support of battery manufacturers and other high-performance industries. It enables companies to achieve higher production yields and better material consistency, reduce waste, and ensure the highest product quality for end-use applications.

Manufacturers interested in testing their materials on the new system can schedule trials at Elcan Industries’ Tuckahoe, NY facility. The equipment is available for both toll processing and in-house testing.
