GB Seeds approached AWM Limited as they were looking for a solution that would allow them to monitor the weight of their bags of produce, ensuring that they’re being filled to the correct amount. Their key requirements were for the solution to be user-friendly and robust as well as competitively priced.
The solution had to be IP66-rated due to the environment and the amount of dust present in the air.
Each build consisted of a Valueweigh Mild Steel platform linked to a Cardinal 210 weight indicator and relay module, allowing a stop/start function.
Legal-for-trade was another requirement for this project, meaning that GB Seeds were able to sell via the weight that was being measured.
GB seeds have said that the new seed weighing system is saving them time and making their operations more efficient. Compared to their previous manual system, this part of their packaging process is now a lot less time-consuming.
