Featuring proprietary mixing technology, the Continuous Processor replaces the multi-step batch mixing process with an automated, non-stop process that quickly achieves a uniform mixture of multiple dry and liquid materials in a single step. Mixing anode and cathode materials with additives, binders, and/or liquids occurs with greater speed and efficiency for higher throughput rates at scale and with less energy required while batch to batch quality variations and labor-intensive material transfer and cleaning steps are eliminated.
Suitable for lithium-ion, dry and wet electrode, lead-acid, solid state, and other battery manufacturing processes, the in-line Continuous Processor automatically meters materials such as carbon black, PTFE, deionized water, LFP, NMC, and CMC into a co-rotating, twin screw and paddle assembly set within an enclosed barrel. The materials are evenly dispersed, mixed at the preset intensity level, and reacted automatically and without interruption as they advance downstream to discharge. The risks of material contamination, metal entrainment, and worker exposure to the materials are significantly reduced.
The Continuous Processors are custom-designed and manufactured to meet specific requirements based on testing conducted in the company’s York, Pa. test laboratory. Tests use customer materials and formulations to verify performance and confidentiality is assured.
