Quadro Engineering Corp. & The Fitzpatrick Company Introduce NEW Mid-Size SDx™ Series– Smart Drive Exchangeable Platform

11 Oct 2021  |
Offering efficient powder milling with scalable results, Quadro Engineering Corp. and The Fitzpatrick Company are pleased to announce the launch of their new mid-size SDx™ Series – Smart Drive Exchangeable Platform, the world’s first pilot-scale or smaller-scale production milling and screening platform offering two powder processing solutions on a single, common drive. This includes the Quadro® Comil® milling and Quadro® FlexSift security screening technologies.

Flexible and easy to migrate from the lab, this model of the SDx™ Series provides the easiest path from research & development through to full production – sitting between the SLS – Scalable Lab System™ and the production-scale SDx™ Series powder milling & screening platforms.

Like the SLS-Scalable Lab Systemand production-scale SDx™, the mid-size platform utilizes SMART-detect, whereby head recognition and RPM modifications are completed automatically, affording the ability to change heads in seconds, improving overall production efficiency.  A unique equipment feature that automatically recognizes the head being installed and adjusts RPM to the appropriate level for optimum material processing, thereby reducing the potential for operator error.

Exceptional value for your investment – two individual functionalities on a single platform, providing the lowest long-standing cost when compared to the purchase of individual units.

Formulators, Scientists, Researchers & Developers, and Technical Transfer Specialists can opt for a single platform and select the most appropriate powder processing technology to suit their application, affording total flexibility, minimizing capital investment, and reducing overall space requirements.

Wilf Sanguesa, Product Manager, Milling at Quadro Engineering / The Fitzpatrick Company, commented: “Quadro and Fitzpatrick have pioneered the flexibility of interchangeable milling heads in their respective fields.  Since 2002, Fitzpatrick’s L1A lab model has afforded users the flexibility to interchange FitzMill™ and conical mill heads; and Quadro introduced the ComilSift in 2009, the first production-scale, single platform, dual-head interchangeable system for milling and/or security screening.  With this heritage and our technical focus on delivering scalable and predictable material processing/milling results, we believe the new platform offers a standout, disruptive solution to the market.”
