One of the greatest risks for harm in a facility is an explosion. When an environment has the risk of a potentially explosive combination of air and gasses, air and Bunting Metal Detectors dust, or air, dust, and gasses forming, it is designated as a “hazardous area.” Equipment in these areas must comply with certain safety standards, and Bunting is proud to offer an ATEX Explosion Proof Rating on all of our 07 and 05 Metal Detection units in order to comply with this requirement.
Our metal detection units offer several other desirable features that improve safety, such as our equipment’s exceptional resistance to water, vibration, and other interference. All search heads on our metal detectors are filled with a catalyzed epoxy, making it so there are no empty voids inside the housing. This eliminates the possibility of water intrusion to the coil, and our exclusive epoxy also reduces the effect of vibration to the search head. Bunting coils and electronics are available in IP54, IP66, and IP69K ratings.
As metal detectors are highly sensitive units, they must be protected from environmental interferences, including vibration and other electrical fields. In addition to the catalyzed epoxy filling, our search heads are manufactured with a special shielding that protects them from outside interferences. This greatly improves the performance of Bunting metal detectors in difficult environments, and results in them requiring shorter metal free zones.
Bunting equipment is designed with safety, efficiency, and product longevity in mind.
