Many of Thayer Scale’s Loss-in-Weight feeders are designed to handle challenging materials that pose problems for standard designs, but we also have solutions optimized for pellets and free-flowing granular products that require highly accurate weighing and metering.

The MSV Pellet Feeder offers precise feed-rate control for free-flowing pellets and granules. This robust, high-accuracy gravimetric system ensures precise feed rates, making the feeder ideal for processes where blending accuracy or consistent batch weights are critical to product quality or compliance. It is ideal for manufacturers needing to provide ongoing process documentation or validation to customers.

The MSV Pellet Feeder features a mass-counterbalanced low-profile cable scale with a robust, highly stable micro-lever system that delivers higher accuracy, fast responsiveness, longer gravimetric cycles and higher turn-down. The compact design of the Pellet Feeder provides flexibility and efficient use of floor space. Its flexible modular design enables clustering of up to 6 feeders. The MSV Pellet feeder includes Thayer Scale’s low-profile cable scale, which utilizes a micro-lever system to counterbalance tare weight, delivering significantly higher load-cell utilization than conventional designs. The result: greater accuracy (typically ±0.25% of feed rate), faster response to set-point changes or density shifts, more stable ratio control, and the elimination of dead zones common in gravimetric feeders.

The Pellet Feeder utilizes the Thayer Scale Differential Screw technology to deliver consistent, pulse-free material flow across a wide operating range. The MSV Pellet Feeder also has longer gravimetric cycles, requiring fewer refills and less time operating in volumetric or “settling” mode and significantly higher turn-down. Like all Thayer Scale feeders, the MSV Pellet Feeder is engineered for long-term durability without compromising accuracy.
