Often used in the Pet Food industry, inerting tends to develop to the animal feed and other sectors. This solution makes it possible to expel oxygen during packaging and thus extend the shelf life of products.
The SYMACH solution is a three-stage process.
- The replacement gas (usually nitrogen) is injected into the product chute between the dosing machine and the spout. The product is then mixed with this new gas while it is falling.
- The mouth itself is equipped with a double internal mouth to retain the product. The retained product, while waiting for a bag, is again swept by the gas. At this stage, the product is inert throughout.
- Once inerting is complete, the product is sent into the bag which has been previously inflated with the replacement gas.
This solution has the advantage of being carried out in concurrent operation, no waiting time due to inerting is attributed to the speed of the machine. Remaining oxygen percentages depend largely on product characteristics and capacity. Percentages between 2% – 5% are the most common.
The bag can then be deaerated to obtain an optimum shape during palletizing and then sealed. The SYMACH deaeration module has also been redesigned for more efficient extraction of air from the bag.
The SYMACH FILLstar bag filling production line has been designed to fill and close bags for the bulk industries, such as pet food, animal feed, rice, sugar, pulses, flakes, and fertilizer.
