Some bulk products have such bad flowing characteristics that gravity alone is not sufficient to discharge them from silos or hoppers. As a result, typical flow problems such as clinging or arching occur. In order to restore a good material fluidity and to ensure a steady discharge, there are 2 main groups of discharge aids: Pneumatic Discharge Aids such as Aeration or fluidising pads, fluidising hoppers, and Air cannons, and Vibratory Discharge Aids, that can be installed internally or externally.
