Food processors are faced with the challenges of handling food safely while delivering high productivity in their food manufacturing facilities. Luxme offers safe food handling to production teams with conveying options that will reduce plant downtime while delivering on proactive food safety programs.

Luxme Int. Stay Clean and SANILux tubular chain conveyors run cleaner, longer.  They reduce downtime related to clean out and washdown. Designed to keep products from sticking or depositing in the conveyor, Stay Clean conveyors are FDA compliant and operate with self-wiping, self-purging capabilities that are matched to the product, and process.

Self cleaning components wipe, scrape, brush, vibrate and blow material from polished internal surfaces to run cleaner, longer. They prevent material build up and extend the time between washdowns to offer higher production line throughput and more revenue.

Available conveying capacities from 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10-inch diameter conveyors will deliver up to 2,100 cubic feet per hour. The Stay Clean technology is used to handle products such as, rice, flour, protein powders, butter, green, roasted and ground coffee, vegetables, pet food and multiple whole, milled, and ground grains.

Luxme Stay Clean conveyors are also ideal for handling food waste in a sealed and controlled manner to avoid contaminating finished food processing, bagging and packaging areas within the plant. They are offered with CIP capabilities which allow operators to clean these conveyors regularly without the risk of contaminating clean rooms where sanitary standards are vital to pet and human food production, bagging and packaging.

LUXME ‘Stay Clean’ conveyors run longer, and cleaner to move more product at a lower cost to food processors.

When allergens and pathogens must be completely removed from all internal surfaces of the conveyors that are feeding the bagging and packaging machines, the food-grade, USDA-accepted SANILux tubular chain conveyor is used. The 4-inch diameter conveyor is USDA certified for Dairy, Meat and Poultry. It gently handles both raw and processed foods in a sanitary manner for the high-quality, finished product to be packaged as a ‘Ready to Eat’ food. The SANILux conveying technology uses a completely enclosed, self-cleaning system to protect ingredients from atmospheric, airborne contaminants and other bacterial elements. The conveying discs on the chain assembly for the clean-in-place (CIP) washdown application is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The SANILux maintains a safe and sanitized processing system, significantly reducing the risk of product recall due to contamination. The automated CIP technology ensures the conveyor is fully sanitized in just 60 minutes as validated with allergen swab testing. This is unlike competitor offerings which can take multiple shifts, and large washdown teams to dismantle, clean and reassemble the equipment.

There are significant benefits for food producers. Clients report: “The SANILux can go from dry to dry, fully allergen sanitized, in just one hour – about 10% of the time it took us previously when the process was manual. As well as improving food safety, this has translated into an uplift in our production capacity as changeover of the delivery system is achieved in a fraction of the time required on our other production lines, minimizing downtime. By removing a manual process, it has also resulted in labor savings.”

The SANILux technology includes the conveyor, control package, CIP skid, and hot air-drying unit to get a freshly sanitized conveyor up and running quickly.

The conveyor itself includes a fixed drive and chain tensioning assembly. The chain is automatically tensioned continuously during operation according to friction, product flow, and variation in atmospheric or product temperature. SANILux is capable of 300, 500, or 1,100 ft3/hr conveying capacities. The system is suited for the automatic conveying of all types of food, at any stage of receiving, processing, and product packaging.

The successful application of Stay Clean and the SANILux sanitary CIP conveyor technology has given the food manufacturers significant improvements in productivity and profitability while keeping the food safe.  Leading-edge Luxme conveying technology is being used by food producers concerned with the quality and integrity of their ‘Ready to Eat’ pet and human food that are fed to bagging and packaging lines.
